Hi, I’m your Clinical Nutritionist, and I have lymphoedema and lipoedema.
I live in Sydney, Australia. Mum to my three gorgeous sons, wife to my childhood sweetheart, and important person to Shelby the very anxious miniature Aussie bulldog. I’ve lived in two other countries (Finland and the UAE) and developed a fascination and excitement for food and food culture because of those experiences!
When I first noticed something was wrong with my legs, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I should eat. I absolutely knew that food would play a big part in how my legs showed up for me, but the advice was contradictory and confusing – I remember so many days getting my plate out, putting it on the bench, and being so unsure about what to put on it that I would either eat nothing … or everything. Even though I felt so confused by ALL THE DIETS I just went ahead and tried them all even if they didn’t make sense because I was DESPERATE. If there was a new diet, I was on it. I think I could have purchased a small island for all the money I spent on diet books and supplements for my legs!
Fast forward to now, and I am a Clinical Nutritionist who works almost exclusively with women who have lymphoedema and lipoedema. Studying Nutritional Medicine felt like the most natural thing in the world to me, because I’ve just always known that what we eat absolutely changes the way our body shows up for us! One of the things I love most about my education, skills and research is having CERTAINTY around what to put on my plate. I adore that I this is no longer such agony for me!
I get really excited about reimagining nutrition protocols for lymphoedema and lipoedema. I bring delicious food, science, lifestyle modifications, and practical tools to the forefront of helping my patients so that the guesswork around food choices is minimised. Nutrition is my passion, and I feel so excited about the role of nutrition in the management of lipoedema and lymphoedema.
I make personalised, empowering, practical, and effective treatment plans for women with lymphoedema and lipoedema.
The treatment plans I make are designed so that you don’t need to keep coming back to see me. I remember when I was looking for health professionals to help me – they all wanted me to keep coming back every week and I just couldn’t afford that. It wasn’t practical, and it felt like I was on a financial treadmill. These experiences led me to make treatment plans that are comprehensive. All the information you need is in there and all you have to do is apply the information, and then come back in 6 months for a review with new blood work to see how your body has enjoyed the benefits of improved health.
You don’t even need to be local to see me! I meet with my patients online – via teleconference with a computer or a phone – and I’ve been doing this for years. If you struggle with mobility, have anxiety about going out, or live a long way from me, we can still see each other and talk to each other so that I can help you start your journey towards feeling a lot better.
